GDC is the world's largest professional game industry event where game developers gather to exchange ideas. Since 2011, the ARF has been sending representatives to the annual GDC, and they have been sharing their feedback and exchanging related information with independent game developers in Taiwan. GDC 2019 was held in San Francisco from March 18 to 22. The event included experience sharing, technical tutorials, and discussions of topics on business management and trend analysis. It also featured exhibitions covering many themes.

Besides the planned participation and information sharing after returning to Taiwan, this year ARF member Lin Jung-sheng led the members to cooperate with the team "The Media Indie Exchange (The MIX)" and held the first-ever "Asian Game Showcase" at the GDC. The Asian Game Showcase provides an opportunity for developers to interact and showcase their works to Western media and industry professionals. Coordinated by ARF members, the event saw 23 games from seven countries, including Taiwan, Japan, Korea, China, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Building on the small accomplishment, we hope to continue working toward showcasing diverse culture in the future.
